The Stamina CPS 9200 makes you feel like you are actually out on the road. You can build speed similar to an outdoor bike with its weighted flywheel. One of the most important features any indoor cycling bike can have is strong construction, and the CPS 9200 does not disappoint. You want to be able to ride a indoor cycling bike without worrying about stability, and this will not be an issue with this bike. It is strong enough so you can stand up and pedal as hard as you want to. You can adjust the seat both ways, forward and backward as well as up and down so you can find a position that suits you. Read more...

To put into greater perspective on how sturdy the bike, the maximum weight capacity is 300lbs. The limit on other bikes I have seen is usually around 200-250 range.

Features

29 lb. cast flywheel

Seat adjusts both horizontally and vertically

Non-slip adjustable, black, vinyl-dipped handlebars

Tension can be adjusted greatly

Quiet, smooth pedal bearings

Adjustable shoe clips for upward as well as downward resistance

Water bottle holder with bottle

Wheels for easy portability

Weight limit: 300 lbs.

Download User Manual (PDF)

The bike is visually attractive, and as one would expect it looks very similar to the CPS 9190 model by Stamina. You will have no need to try to hide this bike when you have people over.

Click Here To Get 30% off The Stamina CPS 9200

The bike is very easy to setup, all you have to assemble are the pedals, seat, and handle bars. It shouldn't take longer than a half an hour or so, and most likely won't take that long.

The flywheel comes with a built in magnet so you can attach your bike computer to it should you want to track your mileage.

Pros

Easy to set up

Easy to use

Quiet operation

Comfortable

Stable

Adjustable

Smooth operation

Durable

Cons

Uncomfortable

Noisy

Difficult to adjust

The seat is not the most comfortable you will find, so wearing cycling shorts is encouraged. You might even have to go out and purchase a seat cover. Though, comfort is something that is relative so what's comfortable for one person might not be for another.

The handle bars don't come up as far as you would probably like. If you are shorter than 6'0 tall, then this shouldn't be an issue. But ultimately you would like handle bars that can adjust higher.

It can also be a little bit noisy at times. You can drown out the noise with music or television.

Click Here To Get 30% off The Stamina CPS 9200
Customer Reviews

I've had the opportunity to ride many indoor trainers like this one. This trainer is comparable to the higher priced models. If, you're looking for an indoor trainer, this is the one to get. The best part is that the built in wheel magnet works with my bike computer. Easy to mount and I can keep track of my mileage during the off season.- Spin to win

This is a great bike for the money! It's easy to set up. Works just like the spin bikes at the gym. I use it several times a week. It's very quiet and doesn't take up as much room as a treadmill. Adjusting the seat height is a little difficult, otherwise great cardio workout for the money. - New triathlete

I was skeptical about buying a bike for home - I am spoiled by gym-bike quality, but didn't want to pay gym-bike prices for home. I am so glad I bought the Stamina 9200; it's perfect for any type of workout (flats/speed, standing runs, hill climbs, etc). It's quiet and compact, yet solid and sturdy. Excellent bike for the price! - Weezie

I did my research for a while before finally deciding on this bike. I'm very happy with this bike and recommend it. The price is right and the setup was done in 10mins! It was nicely packaged just the handle bars, seat and foot pedals needed to be installed. It's very sturdy and easy to adjust. -Ahell

The Schwinn IC Pro Indoor Cycling Bike gives you the feel and experience of cycling on the road while in the comfort of your own home. The design is very sleek and contains real cycling components that produce a highly intense and smooth workout. This highly recognized bike has a very modern look to it, and the design of it allows the cyclist to customize it to suit their body type. This is evidenced by the fact that it has a maximum weight capacity of 300 lbs. This is incredible, most bikes aren't designed for individuals weighing over 220 lbs or so. The Schwinn IC Pro Bike also offers excellent stability and floor protection with it's long diameter leveling feet.

Features

Fully adjustable seat position (horizontal and vertical) locks in place with stainless steel pop pins

Stainless pins prevent corrosion and can be threaded quickly and tightly to hold the sliding tubes securely

Enclosed chain guard keeps lubricated parts away from the rider, yet offers convenient access for easy lubrication

Frame and finish is corrosion resistance with new step-through plate that protects finish from cleat damage

Two water bottle cages hold bottles up to one-liter in size

Easy-to-turn adjustment knob and natural wool felt pads provide linear incremental resistance

22-inch wide stabilizers for better rider support and stability

Includes toe clips

Flywheel Weight

Compared to other flywheels, the IC Pro is relatively lightweight, coming in at 38 lbs. This means that the wheel will stop churning when the resistance has been turned up to a certain level. Though, the ride will be both smooth and fast when the resistance is lower because of the bike's smooth drive system.

Pedal Type

The pedals come with standard flat pedals on one side and Toe Clips on the other. Whether you want to use the Toe Clips or not comes down to preference, but they ensure that your feet will stay secure. Standard pedals don't provide any security, but because of this you won't be able to pull at all, which can make for a better workout.

Seat Adjustment

The seat is ergonomic and can be adjusted both vertically and horizontally, and locks in place with pre-drilled holes and a pin. Almost everyone will be able to find a place where they can be comfortable.

Handle Bar Adjustment

You can choose from several different positions to ride from with the handlebars. This includes riding from a normal position, crouched over, and standing up. However, the handlebars only adjust vertically and not horizontally. This could be an issue if you are very short or tall, but the compatible user size ranges from 4'11 to 6'8, so most individuals shouldn't have any problems.

Resistance Adjustment

The crank resistance and flywheel are the staples of indoor cycling bikes. When you turn the knob, the crank gets tighter and tension is created. This creates more resistance and gives you a harder workout.

Pros

Adjustable

Comfortable

Easy to use

Stable

Quiet operation

Smooth operation

Easy to set up

Brand

Cons

It's hard to find anything considerably wrong with this bike. The handlebars not being able to adjust horizontally could be a potential issue for those who want it to be fully adjustable. Also, the bike is probably a bit on the expensive side for some.
Customer Reviews

Product is great and was very easy to assemble. The only drawback is they specify a lube to use on the resistance pads but don't include any for initial set-up. It's kind of ridiculous that they build a nice quality product and can't include a small amount of their special lube to get going with, not a big deal just annoying. - John

I use my bike for exercise to lose weight. It is easy to use. Setup was easy. It's the best. - Lady D.

This is an excellent indoor use bike. The set-up was very easy. It can be moved easily and is great to set up near the television. - Bicycle chick

If you are looking for a indoor cycling bike just like the one at your local gym, the Multisports ENC 200 cycle bike fits the bill. What's great about this bike is that unlike the one's at the gym, you won't have to spend over $1000 to buy it. The cardiovascular equipment offered by the Multisports brand is built to last, as they use quality components to provide durability and performance. This is evidenced by the fact that heat treatment was applied to the metal of this bike in particular to make it stronger. Read more...

This is evidenced by the fact that heat treatment was applied to the metal of this bike in particular to make it stronger.

The Multisports ENC-200N bike is heavy and sturdy, so you won't have to worry about it wobbling while you are riding it. It also has a nice, simple design and has been well constructed. It also operates very smoothly and quietly, which is very critical to the overall cycling experience.

Features:

Flywheel: 42 lbs

Adjustable handlebars

Two front wheels for easy transport

Easily adjustable resistance

You don't have to exert much effort either to change resistance level with the brake-block resistance, emergency brake lever, and chain drive system. This makes the riding experience more user friendly and enjoyable.
Click Here To Get 25% Off The Multisports ENC-200N

It's durability really shows as you can stand up and peddle like there is no tomorrow without any effects whatsoever. Some bikes might wobble when this occurs, but the ENC-200N is very strong and stable.

A misconception about training bikes like the ENC-200N is that it's designed only for cyclists. This is simply not the case. While this bike can indeed be used for training purposes, it can also by anyone who is looking to increase their heart rate, take part in a low impact exercise, lose weight, or just to get more fit.

Assembling the bike was fairly easy and would take most people about 20-25 minutes to complete. There are only a few parts that need to be put together.

A nice additional features is that it comes with a water bottle holder and water bottle. This is actually very rare from what I have seen, as some bikes don't even come with a water bottle holder at all.

Cons

The downside to this bike comes down to two areas specifically. First, if you happen to be shorter (in the 5'0-5'3 range) then you might find that you will not be able to rest your arms comfortably unless you are upright.

The other complaint is that the seat is not very comfortable at all. Though, this problem can be solved by going out and buying a new seat cover. The seats on most bikes anyway aren't the most comfortable anyway.

Customer Reviews

The bike was relatively easy to set up and assemble-- we did it in under half an hour. I've used it a few times since then and it rides just like higher priced models that I used at the YMCA. Good to have, esp. now that the rainy weather is coming. - Chris

This bike is over all a great addition to my work out plan.. Only thing i would change is the layout of the handlebars.. Adding something to hold onto in the middle would give the ability to have more upper body positions.. I love the bike other wise.. - Gabrielle

Absolutely great bike. Funny how this bike is as good or better than the $1000 bikes out there. Have not been disappointed with it ever since recieving it some time ago. - Ben

The Stamina CPS 9190 Indoor Cycle trainer gives you the feel of an actual road bike. The weighted flywheel allows you to build speed with it the same way you can with an outdoor bike. This bike is built out of a strong steel that allows the user to pedal hard standing up as if you were going uphill. Or, you can just pedal as hard as you want without any worry about the bike not being steady or stabilized enough. The seat can be adjusted up and down as well as front to back to find the position that is most comfortable for you. Read more...

Product Features

22 lb cast flywheel

Seat can be adjusted horizontally and vertically

No-slip adjustable, black, vinyl-dipped handlebars

A variety of tension adjustments

Quiet, smooth pedal bearings

Adjustable shoe clips for upward as well as downward resistance

Water bottler cage

Two front wheels for easy transportation

From a style/appearance perspective, this bike looks very similar to the Sunny Pro Indoor Cycling Bike. The design is very appealing and the colors make the bike look very sharp. In this regard, it passes the test.

The bike is built very well, stainless steel is very strong and won't rust or corrode over time. It's sturdy and durable, so you shouldn't have to worry about replacing it anytime soon.

The CPS 9190 is stable, quiet, and rides very smoothly. It doesn't move at all when you ride it. You feel like you are riding a road bike. The resistance knob is also very easy to adjust while riding. The seat was also comfortable while riding.

The only parts you have to assemble are the handlebars, seat, and petals, so this is a very easy process.

This bike, considering how well it's constructed and the materials it's made out of, is an excellent value purchase for less than $400.

Cons

One of the complaints is the fact that the handlebars don't come up far enough. This can be an issue if you are taller than 6'2, otherwise you should be fine. The chain guard is plastic instead of metal, which means that it's not quite as stable as it could be. For spinners, it also does not come with clip-in pedals.

Customer Reviews

Very easy to assemble! This is a great bike. I used to do a spinning class all the time at the local gym. This bike is every bit as good as theirs. I am very happy with this bike. For this price, you really can't beat it! - womensvball76

For the price, the quality is great ! I ride the bike for at least an hour everyday. I was a little disappointed that I tried to contact the Stamina Customer Service about spin pedals after the purchase and I NEVER heard back. I ended up purchasing the spin pedals and a more comfortable seat, which were an additional $60, at my local bike shop. The only change I would make is that the handlebar pole be a little longer so that I could raise the handlebars, other than that, I love it ! - jr2010

When we received this bike, I was a bit apprehensive it would be worth the money spent. I am happy to share we are thrilled with this bike. It's sturdy and has all the features a "gym" bike has. When we can't get to the gym, it's a great piece of equipment to have. If you have no gym membership, I would highly recommend this bike. My only complaint would be the handlebars, I wish they went up a bit higher. Great purchase, glad we did it!!! - hlabuyer

Style/Appearance

When looking at a indoor cycling bike, what's the first aspect we look at first? It's appearance. This bike passes that test. It has an attractive design with red and silver colors that make it very easy on the eye. If can making working out a little easier when you have a bike that is aesthetically pleasing.

Adjustability/Comfort

The Sunny Pro Indoor Cycling Bike has handlebars that are fully adjustable for comfort. Also, the seat can be adjusted up and down as well as back to front. This should allow you to workout without much strain and get the maximum out of it.

Construction

One of the common themes that people have to say about the Sunny Pro Indoor Cycling Bike is that it's well put together. This bike represents quality workmanship as it's very sturdy, heavy, and as a result very durable. It rode very smoothly, while also being stable. Having a bike that is constructed soundly is one of the most important features a bike can have.

Click Here to Get Free Shipping On the Sunny Pro Indoor Cycling Bike
Additional Features

The pedals have a non-slip surface and are very balanced for an effective and safe workout. The pedals also come with toe straps.
The seat to some could be uncomfortable. However, cycling seats are made to be real comfortable to begin with. If you wear cycling shorts, it should feel fine. Though, you can always get a seat cover to increase comfort.
Customer Reviews

I am so impressed with my purchase. I was dubious, read all the reviews, and still nervous about what to expect - spinning bikes are normally incredulously expensive, and this one seemed incredulously cheap. It not only rivals spinning bikes found in a gym, but it is pretty cool looking too - I kept it in my living room for the first month to ensure I would motivate myself to get on it, and I loved seeing the silver and red every day! - mxm04

Great price, great performance. Seems just as sturdy as the bikes in the gym. VERY easy to put together. You'll be pleased. - nhil75

This cycling bike is a great buy! I spin at the gym but wanted something at home for when I can't get out. This bike is as heavy and sturdy as the ones at the gym. I read all of the other reviews and decided to try it out and am very pleased. The only negative that I can think of is that it's a little noisy while pedaling. If I turn my music up, there's no problem. I would suggest this bike to anyone without any reservations. - loriknoll

Cycling itself is already a workout that can help you burn those calories and shed off those extra pounds. However, there are people who don’t have the time and the bike to do it regularly. This is where spinning cycling comes in. Contrary to popular belief, spinning cycling is not the same as riding a stationary bike. Their difference is best felt rather than seen since stationary bikes look like the bikes that are used for spinning cycling.

One striking difference is that spinning cycling is definitely harder than stationary biking. The spinning cycling is designed to make you feel as if you’re riding your mountain bike in a very rocky slope. You can actually feel your calories burn after one session.

During spinning cycling sessions you will be coached by a trained professional. This is because it is much like hardcore bike riding. You need to be in the proper position at all times so that you will be able to burn those fats effectively. Also, you have to be on pint when it comes to your stance.

Another difference is that you can change your position just as you would if you are really riding a mountain bike. There is going to be music in every class and it will match the “slope” that you are currently on. These slopes replicate the mountainous areas, hills, rocky roads and other treks. This is why the spinning cycling is so much harder than riding the regular stationary bikes.

Although it is quite harder, the spinning cycling is definitely more effective than stationary bike riding. It makes your body work hard with every kick of the pedal. Also, being a part of a class is a good way to burn those unwanted pounds. You can form a sort of support group that can help you stay on track of being fit without falling off the diet wagon. This is why it is not really logical to think that going to spinning cycling classes is kind of embarrassing especially if you do not have any cycling experience.

Almost anyone can take part in indoor cycling, regardless of your fitness level. It's an activity that is challenging, but rewarding. Indoor cycling is an exercise that is thought of by many as one of the most fun and effective to participate in. When compared to other forms of exercise such as kickboxing, running, or step aerobics, cycling is often times the most preferred. The following are many of the indoor cycling benefits.

You're always in control of the resistance level

It doesn't require you to learn any techniques to master

Not as stressful on your ankles, knees, and hips as running for example

Many claim they have more fun with indoor cycling than any other exercise

An abundance of instructional videos and guides available

Physical Indoor Cycling Benefits

What specific indoor cycling benefits does one get physically?

Fat Burning Workout

Numerous studies have been done on indoor cycling benefits. One study concluded that cyclists on average were able to get their heart rate up to 80% of their maximum heart rate. To put this into perspective, most fat is burned when in the 65%-75% range. This is also a great way to burn calories.

Builds Leg Strength

The hamstrings, quadriceps, and glutes are the largest muscle groups in the body and cycling uses them all. By doing so, you can increase blood flow to these muscles while also strengthening your calf muscles and overall leg strength.

Improves Cardiovascular System

Another indoor cycling benefit is strengthening your cardiovascular system, which consists of your heart and lungs. Cycling on a regular basis will increase blood flow in your entire body and improve the efficiency of your cardio system.

Relieves Stress

After a long day at work or school, riding an indoor cycling bike will help relieve tension and stress experienced throughout the day. This can be categorized as a mental and physical benefit.

There are many other benefits not listed here, but this gives you an idea of what you can gain from indoor cycling.

"Spin" is a term that still may not be well known by many people, even those interested in indoor cycling training.

"Spin" is a term that still may not be well known by many people, even those interested in indoor cycling training. This is unfortunate because this term is as synonymous to indoor cycling training as facial tissues are to Kleenex. The original version of the spin bike was created by Johnny G, a cyclist whose expertise resided in racing cycling bikes. At the time, this bike was designed to be used inside, specifically for winter indoor cycling training.

An Improvement Over Stationary Bikes

Over the years since the Spin bike was originally designed and developed, it has progressed considerably. Compared to stationary bikes, spin bikes are really a step above. Ever since those days when people crowded outside of the home of Johnny G to get a spin, the popularity of it has only grown.

Kaiser bought the next generation of the spin bike. Karen Voight, now a fitness expert but at the time a dancer, worked with Kaiser and discovered a new way to approach indoor cycling training. This new concept took off almost immediately, so much so that Reebok began creating indoor cycling training bikes of their own. Much of the credit for Reebok's spin bike designs can be attributed to Kaiser and Voight.

Nowadays, Spinning™ has actually become a brand that is responsible for the creation of the flywheel bike to be used indoors. Spinner™ bikes are now the most popular and for reason. Their bikes first and foremost are outstanding, but their support is also as good as it gets. Because of these reasons, Spinner™ bikes can be found in gyms everywhere.

You can gain many benefits from your indoor cycling training if you use the right cycling bike, such as the Spinner. Another form of training that will help tone muscle and improve your overall strength is cycling weight training. This type of training will increase your stamina and help you be at your best even during the most strenuous cycling competitions.

Indoor cycling is an activity that is becoming more and more popular. As a result, more people are also buying indoor cycling bikes to use while at home. Many people who have attended cycling classes have learned the benefits of it and then proceeded to purchase an indoor bike for themselves. While participating in classes at the local gym has it's advantages, you are required to be there at a certain time. On the other hand, owning a bike at home will allow you to exercise when you are free to do so.

The following are just several advantages of owning an indoor cycling bike:

No gym membership required. This also means that while you will have to spend more in the short term to purchase a bike, you will also save money long term by not having to pay for a gym membership.

It's convenient. You don't have to worry about driving through poor weather conditions or figure out who will take care of your children.

You will never have to wait for your turn to use one.

You can choose the TV station.

As previously mentioned, you can also fit your routine in your schedule when it's best for you.

The next question is, which indoor cycling bike do I purchase? Because they come in different styles, colors, and brands, choosing the right indoor cycling bike isn't always easy. First, it's helps to think about your personal needs and what features are most important for you.

For example, how much money do you have to spend on one? How often are you going to use it? Can you do maintenance yourself, or will need someone to come in and do it for you? Where are you going to put the bike?

Features

You should take your time before buying an indoor cycling bike. The following are features to consider when doing comparison shopping.

Style and appearance: This may be important or matter very little to you. If it's in a spot where it will be seen by guests however, then you should probably factor this in.

Durability: Is it made of parts that will last? Stainless steel is a plus because it will prevent corrosion and rust from moisture.

Brand: Does the company that produces the bike have a strong reputation?

Pedals: Do they come with straps, or are they 'clip-less'.

Structure: Can resistance level be easily adjusted? Is the bike constructed soundly, or will it cause discomfort?

More features can be considered as well, such as whether it has a place for a water bottle, if it has adjustable handlebars, and ease of adjusting the seat. Ultimately, you will have to decide which features matter to you the most.

This translates into figuring out how long you can race, then creating a cycling program that is designed for those distances. For instance, if you wanted to race for an hour or so, then base mileage is probably not something you need to worry about too much. Though, if you are preparing for an elite race, then you would have to ride 5-6 hours per week.
Divide The Year Into Sections

By breaking down the year into sections, your can better able get more out of your cycling training program. By doing this, you can devote certain sections of the year toward improving in specific areas, instead of just going through one type of program all the time. For example, when the race is approaching, you can work on peak training. During other parts of the year, you can do interval training and winter base training.

Having a strong level of focus is a critical element for any cycling training program, especially while racing. The is because the level of competition in racing is greater now more than ever. Resting and recovering properly is essential for the health of your body and being able to train at a high level. Having this balance is as important as any other part of your cycling training program.

During the process of recovery, your body will be able to unwind and prepare itself for additional training. The schedule of your cycling training program should be flexible as well. If you are ever getting indicators that your body is being overworked, then you should listen. If your body is telling you that something isn't right, then you should stop your cycling training program immediately to prevent any injuries or harm to your body from occuring.

Tapering off for a specific amount of time, depending on how long your race will be, is necessary to perform at your best. Typically, a tapering period for endurance based competitions lasts for several weeks.
